Looking for a last-minute holiday getaway? We’ve got you covered.
The lobby of the newly-renovated Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown is ready for Santa’s visit! Among the festive décor is an exquisite, magical gingerbread village that will make you feel like you’ve landed in a winter wonderland.
With the help of some sugar elves, the Fairmont’s executive pastry chef A.J. Thalakkat crafted the gingerbread village to be the centerpiece of the lobby’s holiday decorations.
And we’ve got to say, the impeccable design and careful attention to detail are mesmerizing.
It’s hard to believe that the structures are made out of gingerbread, isn’t it?
The town even features a gingerbread puppy and kitty adoption center, an adorable nod to Georgie, their canine ambassador adopted from Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
Guests of all ages can stop by the Fairmont to get a peek at the culinary team’s marvelous work. After perusing the little town, you can sip a hot cocoa or holiday cocktail in the hotel’s lobby or by the fire-pit in the attached courtyard.
If you’re already planning on being in the Washington, D.C. area this December, you don’t want to miss this spectacle. And if you wish to spend more time admiring the minute details of the gingerbread village, you can book a few nights at the Fairmont.
